Aging In Place Exercise During the COVID19 Pandemic

It's always important to exercise but for the older population, regular exercise is even more important when you choose to age in place. There are many excellent and free videos available online to help give you ideas on what exercises will work for you. They will have alternative movements for those that can't move as well and challenge you as the workouts become easier to handle.

Below you will find some videos we found on YouTube for free. These are meant to be an introduction to what is available. By no means is this all or even the best videos online. We encourage you to look for more videos using the search function on YouTube to find even more strength and balance exercise options. If you are Care Manager looking to send your clients a helpful link, please feel free to send them this blog post to get started.

If you are wanting to try a different tactic, there is also a helpful download PDF from the Indiana Fall Prevention Coalition. Download this printable sheet and send to clients that don't have access to internet or might not feel comfortable searching YouTube. These are some easy to follow exercises that can be done in most homes.
